The Susannah G. Applegate Manuscript, which dates circa 1980, contains the manuscript titled “Jesse Applegate: Oregon’s Prince of Pioneers,” and chronicles the life story of Applegate, a prominent early pioneer.

The Henri M. Chase Papers includes materials related to pioneer Henri M. Chase. These papers contain correspondence, a newspaper account of his life, and a roster of the members of Company M. There are also mortgage loan papers and a series of letters between Whitman College president Winslow S. Anderson and the nephew of Captain Chase, and other related ephemera.

The James S. Dewar Letter and Autobigraphy, which dates from 1860 through 1905, contains materials related to James S. Dewar and his sister. These papers consist of a letter to Dewar's sister, Jane Cameron, and Dewar's autobiography.
