The Brewer and Chew Family Papers contain materials related to the Northwest pioneer Brewer and Chew families who came overland to settle in the Walla Walla, Washington Valley. These papers contain photographs, correspondence, and autograph albums. These papers, which date from 1868 through 1995, also contains certificates of training, geneological writings, and magazines.

The book focuses on the history of the Native American tribes in Washington, the early settlers, and the development of the major Washington industries
