Eells Family Collection
The Eells Family Collection contains materials related to the family of northwest pioneers Cushing and Myra Eells and their descendents. There are correspondence, sermons, writings, and articles. This collection, which dates from 1742 through 1977, also contains photographs, newspaper clippings, and a family history spanning through many generations.
Joseph and Eliza Gale Papers
The Joseph and Eliza Hardy Papers contain ephemera related to Oregon pioneer Joseph Gale, a member of the first governing body for the Oregon Territory and his wife, Eliza Jane Moody Gale. These papers include photocopies letters and the last will and testament of Eliza Gale. These records, which date from 1957 through 1967, also contain topographical maps of Oregon and geneological research notes.
Gilliam Family Papers
The Gilliam Family Papers house materials related to the pioneer Gilliam family who settled in the Oregon and Washington Territories. These papers include commision papers for the first regiment of Oregon Riflemen, estate papers, and newspaper articles. These papers, which date from 1847 through 1957, also contain letters and farm lease documents.
William D. Guernsey Collection
Materials related to the life of William D. Guernsey who wrote autobiographical stories, owned a printing business, worked for newspapers, was the son of Dayton, Washington pioneer D.C. Guernsey, and was a Whitman Academy alumnus.
Hamblin Epps Hardy Papers
The Hamblin Epps Hardy Papers contain materials related to research on pioneer Martin Van Buren Elliott that led to information about fellow Washington State pioneer Hamblin Epps Hardy. These papers, which date from circa 1970, contain photocopues of an exchange of letters between Carolyn Ames and the Whitman College and Northwest Archives, the National Archive and Record Service, and L.L. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Washington.
