Lawrence L. "Larry" Dodd grew up in the Walla Walla Valley. His great-grandfather, Francis M. Lowden, Sr. settled here in 1863. The town of Lowden was named for him. Mr. Dodd graduated from Walla Walla High School and earned a B.A. at Washington State University. He was employed as a park ranger at Whitman Mission National Historic Site when he began to do family research at Penrose Memorial Library.
