Craig Gunsul papers
Scope and Contents
The collection contains two volumes of Craig Gunsul's opinion column in the Whitman College Pioneer, "The Whale." Gunsul wrote The Whale from 1990 to 2004, and these volumes represent the entire run. Some articles are appended with Gunsul's reflections after his retirement, often decades after the article was initially published.

Biographical
Craig Gunsul was a professor of physics at Whitman from 1969 to 2004. In the fall of 1989, Pioneer opinions editor Keenan Konopaski '90, suggested that Gunsul write a column for the opinions page. The Whale, as Gunsul would call it, ran from 1990 to his retirement in 2004.
