The David Stevens papers contain speeches given at various events from 1956 to 1992. There are some drafts as well as research materials. The speeches are either handwritten or typed, and examine issues related to a liberal arts education.

Biographical / Historical
David Stevens ‘47 taught in the economics department of Whitman College from 1951 to 1998. He also served as Dean of the Administration from circa 1955 to 1964. The Stevens Gallery, established circa 2002, is named in his honor. David Stevens died in February 2007 in Napa, California.
