Harlow Barney Papers
Scope and Contents
The Harlow Barney Papers documents the work of the Walla Walla County water master from approxmiately 1920 to 1965. The collection consists of watershed and land ownership maps, water usage laws, and surveys. It also contains reports, aerial photographs, insurance information, and business and personal correspondence. Also in the collection are detailed drawings of waterways and city lots for the Walla Walla area, maps for Asotin, Garfield, Franklin, and Columbia Counties, and the adjudication survey of the Walla Walla River, Umatilla County, 1927.

Biographical Note
Harlow Barney was born November 21, 1890 in Lowden, Washington. He became the watermaster of Walla Walla County, Washington in 1927, and held the position until 1963. He died on October 30, 1971, at the age of 80.
