Scope and Contents
The Veterans Administration Records includes information about the history of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Walla Walla, located on the grounds of the old Fort Walla Walla. These records, which span from 1943 through 1962, also consist of correspondence between the regional Seattle office and Whitman College, and forms related to student veterans in the area. Additionally, the collection provides records of student veterans, as well as descriptions of Whitman College vocational courses for their student veterans. The Veterans Administration provided information about the G.I. Bill and requests for student veterans housing. Also included are blueprints from Whitman College of planned buildings on its campus, and financial documents for student charges. The collection dates from 1943 to 1962.
