Abstract

Because You Are Here was a performance based on interviews with immigrant and first generation members of the Walla Walla, Washington community performed at Whitman College. The story phone line, Hear Here Walla Walla, was created in tandem with the performance as another means to share excerpts from the featured interviews. This collection contains the digital records created from the projects.

Abstract

Peter Newland ’67 is a collector and producer of artists' books. While at Whitman, he studied theatre and economics. The Peter Newland papers represent the years 1908-2022, and contains materials from Harper Joy Theatre and Beta Theta Pi. There is also a Whitman tobacco silk manufactured in 1910, and Newland's notes for a presentation about artists' books.
