Edith Smith Papers
Scope and Contents
The Edith Smith Papers, spanning from 1889 through 1953, houses Edith Smith’s photographs from her days at Whitman College, her students, and the 1925 Native American Congress. It also includes personal papers, correspondence, and a scrapbook. This collection provides insight into the experience of a Whitman College student, and the ways Native Americans were represented during the early nineteenth century.
