Biographical Note
The Allied Arts Council of the Walla Walla Valley, founded in 1968, was a group of representatives from around 25 organizations in the Walla Walla Valley. These organizations were comprised of educational institutions, community based groups, and artist associations. The Allied Arts Council had a variety of duties including updating a public monthly calendar of events, publishing guidelines for applications for grants, and organizing forums for groups to exchange ideas, activities and projects in various cultural fields. It also had funds that went towards projects like beautification of city spaces and sponsoring of community events. The Allied Arts Council stayed active through the 1980s
