Historical Note
Martin Jewelry was founded in 1889 by Charles Martin as a watch stand in a pharmacy. He then opened a location of his own on West Main Street and the location changed several times before reaching its current home at 18 East Main Street. Charles’ son, Port Martin, learned the trade from his father in the 1930s and 1940s, and eventually took over the business. In 1982, Port sold the business to his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Paul Eagon. The business has since been passed on to Charles’ great-granddaughter, Erin Mason.
