Scope and Contents
The Lonnie Butler Collection consists of materials related to Lonnie Butler. This collection, which dates from 1908 through 1949, contains photographs of Lonnie Butler, together with his family and as a member of various musical groups; a 1908 yearbook for the Bellingham Normal School (attended by Lonnie Butler's sister, Elta Claire Butler (1884-1965)); a 1923 yearbook for Dayton High School; and a book of minutes for the Smith Hollow Literary Society (1910-1913).

Biographical Note
Lonnie J. Butler was born in Smith Hollow, Washington on October 1, 1899. He was a lifelong saxophone player, and he was married to Sylvia Johnson. He died in Vancouver, Washington on January 6, 1966.
