Chester C. Maxey Papers
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of correspondence and memoranda, diplomas and event programs, writings and addresses, newspaper clippings and photographs. Published works include his autobiography, "The World I Lived In", and "Historical Walla Walla Valley". Letters, written on the occasion of his twenty-fifth and forty-fifth anniversaries and the event of his retirement, from Whitman College, are part of this group. Various certificates and awards from his years of civic involvement, articles written for the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin, his daily planners, the condolence book from his memorial service and a tape recording of that service are also included.
