Biographical / Historical

Alzada Tipton joined Whitman College as provost and dean of the faculty in 2016. She received her undergraduate degree in English from Johns Hopkins University, and completed her Ph.D in English at Duke University. Before joining Whitman, she had worked as a professor and administrator at both Elmhurst College and Hamline University.
