Biographical / Historical
The Office of the Placement Service provided students and alumni with employment opportunities, including local and campus work, part-time work over vacations, and jobs after graduation. Primary activities included posting job opportunities in campus publications, providing students and graduates with information about career paths, and bringing prospective employers to campus. The Office existed as early as 1950, but may have started earlier. Alumna Almira Quinn was Director of the Office from circa 1965 to 1968, followed by Edith Moore. By 1972, the Office of the Placement Service had been absorbed by the Career Planning and Placement Center, directed by Robert D. Malde.
