Biographical Note
Zebulon Kenyon Straight was born in Wayne, New York in 1840. He moved to Wisconsin in 1846, and then to Minnesota in 1861, where he became a jeweler and watchmaker. In 1870 he moved to Walla Walla, Washington, where he married Margaret Alexander in 1871 and had two children, Zeno and Maude. Straight was elected to the city council of Walla Walla three times, and was elected to the first Washington State Legislature in October, 1889. He died in November, 1908.
