The Oscar N. Wheeler Scrapbook houses the scrapbook of Oscar N. Wheeler, an Ohio native who settled in Walla Walla in the late 1870s or early 1880s. Biographical Note
Oscar N. Wheeler was born in Ohio in April 1844. He enlisted in the Union Army on August 27, 1861 at the age of 17, and obtained the station of sargent before his discharge on September 21, 1865 at age 21. During this time he lead the Company E of the Ohio Regiment 184. Between 1874 and 1883, Wheeler moved to the Clyde precinct of Walla Walla, and by 1883 was filing for proof of claim for his homestead parcel.
