The Paul Laurence Dunbar Note contains a brief note written and signed by the poet, Paul Dunbar, on January 23, 1903. The note reads, “Keep a-pluggin’ away. Sincerely Yours, Paul Laurence Dunbar.” The letter was donated “in the honor of the Black students of Whitman College” by William Whitney Switzer on May 22, 1972.
