Biographical Note

Wesley Wood Slaughter, born June 2, 1885, in Pendleton, Oregon, worked as a farmer and logger on a ranch near Eight Mile Creek of Wasco County, Oregon. He travelled the region for a number of years, working odd jobs before settling in Pendleton in 1923 to work for the Forest Service. He died in 1964.
