The Josiah Osborn Daybook contains a daybook kept by Josiah Osborne from 1833 to 1876. It documents the life of an Oregon Trail pioneer who survived the Whitman Incident at the Whitman Mission in Walla Walla, Washington. There are entries in the book from his time at the Whitman Mission.

Biographical Note
Josiah Osborne was born May 1, 1809, in South Britain, Connecticut. He travelled from Illinois to Oregon with his wife and three children. The Osborne family survived the Whitman Incident, which occurred during their 1847 visit to the Whitman Mission in Walla Walla, Washington, by hiding under the floorboards of the Mission. Josiah Osborne died on October 19, 1880, at the age of 71.
