The George M. Weister Photographs house the business and personal records of George M. Weister. These photographs, which dated from circa 1890 through 1920, consists of two photograph albums, a binder of slides, and a folder of historical information on Weister and his works.

Biographical Note
George M. Weister, born in 1862 in Pennsylvania, began his photography career in 1890 as a salesman for the E. J. Partridge Photographic Supply Company, which operated out of Portland, Oregon. In 1895, he opened his own photography business, called the Weister Company, selling photographic supplies, lantern slides and cameras along with his services as a photographer. Weister died in 1922 at the age of 59, after which his co-worker acquired his company and his extensive collection of negatives.
