Scope and Contents
The Langdon Photograph Collection contains the personal records of John Warren Langdon. This collection, which dates from circa 1900 to 1930, includes photographs and negatives mostly of landscapes and town life in Walla Walla, Washington. This collection documents Walla Walla and the Pacific Northwest in the early 20th century.

Biographical Note
John Warren Langdon was born in New Hampton, Iowa, on December 18, 1871. He worked as a banker for two years from the age of sixteen, after which he moved to Walla Walla, Washington. He served on numerous committees in the area, advising the construction of the Walla Walla City Park (now Pioneer Park) and the Dreamland Park Playground. He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for Whitman College beginning in 1908. He worked for Baker-Boyer Loan Company, Green Investment Company, the Baker-Langdon Orchard, was an inventor, and a passionate photographer. He died on August 25, 1930.

Donated by Mrs. Jack Stoddard on behalf of the Tally Ho Club to the Whitman College and Northwest Archives circa 1977. The accession number associated with this donation is retro-0642.
