Biographical Note

Edgar Leroy Gilson was born on April 29, 1891, in Ritzville, Washington. He graduated from Whitman College, in Walla Walla, Washington, in 1913, going on to work as a dentist in Modesto, California for 37 years. He remained involved with the college, frequently visiting the campus for alumni events. He was a self-professed prolific scrapbooker, and created scrapbooks documenting Whitman College and other organizations. He died on December 27, 1985, at the age of 94.
