Scope and Contents

The Walla Walla Bicentennial Records, which dates from 1974 to 1976, includes lectures and oral history interviews chronicling life in Walla Walla by interviews with residents who were born around, or shortly before, the turn of the twentieth century. As well as personal interviews, tapes of lectures given at Walla Walla Community College are also included.

Historical Note

Walla Walla’s Bicentennial Committee was formed in 1974, in anticipation of the 200th anniversary of America’s independence. The committee recorded a lecture series on the history of Walla Walla that was hosted at Walla Walla Community College, and also recorded oral histories from Walla Walla residents.
