The George and Hallie Day Papers houses the personal papers of George and Hallie Day. This collection, which dates roughly from 1894 to 1957, consists of photographs, journals, newspaper clippings, and correspondence. This collection provides insight into the lives of an upper-middle class Walla Walla family in the early 20th century, including their daily routines, social lives, customs, and beliefs.

Biographical Note
George Day, born August 19, 1880 in Eugene, Oregon, and Hallie Day, born June 4, 1884 in Walla Walla, Washington, married circa 1920 in Walla Walla. George worked as the Walla Walla postmaster general, as well as the president of Gardener and Company, a mercantile agency. Hallie was a traveller and a socialite, frequently travelling across and out of the country in addition to organizing social events for assorted Walla Walla women’s clubs. George... died on July 16, 1946, at the age of 55, and Hallie died December 29, 1983, at the age of 99.
