Scope and Contents
This series, which dates from 1977-1984, includes materials related to Craig Lesley's book Winterkill. Published in 1984, Winterkill features Danny Kachiah, an Oregonian Nez Perce father, his son, Jack, and indigenous characters with a focus on fishing, traditions, and heritage. This series includes handwritten notes, research materials, drafts, one galley copy, correspondence, and materials related presentations and appearances, publicity, reviews, and awards. Also included in this series are materials related to two short stories, "Along for the Ride" and "Off the Main Road," and an original screenplay Elkmoon by Dick Hiner which is based on Winterkill.
