From the Collection:

The Irwin D. Stewart Photographs, which dates from circa 1930-1946, consists of photographs of Whitman College’s campus buildings, interiors (including administrators in their offices), general campus views (including aerial shots), student life and activities, the Marcus and Narcissa Whitman portraits, and various other unidentified shots. This collection also contains photographs from the United States Navy's V-5 aviation cadet program which was part of Whitman College’s campus from 1942 to 1944, and from the V-12 Navy College Training Program that was conducted on the Whitman College campus from 1943 to 1945. These photographs document Whitman College’s architecture and student involvement in campus life in the 1930s and 1940s.
